10 Nov 2008: With immediate effect, the residency criteria detailed on the Care to Learn application form have been withdrawn for the current (2008/09) academic year only.

This should not be taken as an indication that these arrangements will last for any longer than this academic year. Learners must be made aware that residency rules for Care to Learn are under review and that some people may not be eligible for support from September 2009.

· New applicants do not need to complete the question about residency conditions detailed in Part 1 of the form.

· The Learner Support Service will be contacting existing applicants who have had their application refused or queried on residency grounds.
